Cryopreservation
Smart Cryo-Tools
The Zeus Smart Cryo-Tools system is an integrated set of intelligently designed tools developed to improve safety, traceability, and workflow efficiency during the cryopreservation and storage of embryos and oocytes. By utilizing patented shortenable Smart Straws, the system can quadruple the storage capacity of existing liquid nitrogen tanks without requiring new hardware. The octagonal goblet design ensures that samples remain submerged in nitrogen during handling, maintaining a continuous cryogenic chain and protecting delicate biological materials from thermal shock. To ensure maximum safety and error-free identification, the system utilizes specialized liquid nitrogen-resistant barcodes that remain durable and readable even while submerged in nitrogen. This integration provides full in-tank addressing and library location indexing, enabling the system to track the exact tank, canister, cane, goblet, and straw location of every sample. Consequently, for the thawing process, users can utilize the wireless barcode reader to pinpoint and verify sample locations in real time without the need to remove them from the nitrogen, ensuring the correct embryo or oocyte is selected before every procedure.
Essential Supplies
Lab Consumables

Smart Straws
Triangular cryopreservation straws with a shortenable design to quadruple nitrogen tank capacity. Features an integrated stopper and barcode-verifiable geometry.

Octagonal Goblets
Featuring a unique octagonal design optimized for eight Smart Straws, this goblet utilizes a nitrogen-retaining structure to keep straw tips submerged. This ensures that embryos and oocytes are never exposed to ambient temperatures during handling or identification.

Grabber Pencil
A precision handling tool with a mini four-claw pickup mechanism for safe manipulation and extension of shortened straws inside liquid nitrogen.

Cane
High-quality aluminum cane designed for secure storage of five vertical goblets. Features dedicated placement slots and clearly labeled positions (A-E).

Cryo-Box
Liquid nitrogen container made from cryogenic-grade insulating material. Engineered to maintain a stable environment and keep samples submerged during handling.

Tweezers
Long stainless-steel tweezers designed for precise manipulation in cryogenic environments. Corrosion-resistant and durable for positioning goblets.

Aluminum Block with Holder
Heavy-duty aluminum block featuring six octagonal wells to hold the goblets, ensuring stability inside liquid nitrogen, preventing tipping or drifting, and serving as a durable, thermally stable interface that remains inside the Cryo-Box during use to maintain thermal integrity.

Cryotools System
The Smart Cryo-Tools System is a comprehensive traceability ecosystem anchored by the ZEUS Touch-Screen Tablet and Software for secure patient registration and record management. The system minimizes human error by identifying the exact in-tank location of embryos and oocytes-tank, canister, cane, and goblet-while integrating with a wireless barcode reader for fast and accurate scanning. Liquid nitrogen–resistant barcodes, generated directly via the tablet, ensure long-term specimen security and workflow efficiency.
